Both were caught in the grip of scabies, suffering unbearably and exhausted from lack of food. However, when we took them to the hospital for treatment, we knew that by following our protocols and working with these two adorable beings for what would turn out to be many weeks of daily care, with medicated baths, pain medications, scabies treatments, , nutritious food and lots of love, we could turn this near-death experience into something absolutely wonderful.
